Why this statement?
We are responsible for protecting your personal data as effectively as possible. In doing so we must comply with the requirements of privacy legislation. Among other things, we want to be transparent about the types of data we process, the purposes of the processing, with whom we share data and what rights you have with regard to your own data. Processing of your data
When advising on and brokering financial services and products, we ask for personal data such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, bank account number, etc. We also process your data when you contact us or visit the website. DGA Financieel Adviseurs b.v. respects your privacy, and therefore your data is processed with the greatest possible care in compliance with applicable laws and regulations on the protection of personal data. We ensure that only personal data is processed that is accurate, adequate, relevant and not excessive.
Types of data
We (may) process the following personal data about you:
- contact details, such as name, address, place of residence, telephone number, and email address;
- age, gender, marital status;
- data relating to a passport, driving licence or other identity document (sometimes we ask for a copy of an identity document);
- data on employment, income, occupation and employer;
- data on financial situation, assets, and any debts;
- data on current financial products, such as bank accounts or insurance policies;
- special categories of personal data, for example health (in some cases);
- data on any criminal offences, fraud aspects (where relevant);
- data on submitted claims/claim history.
When we process health data or criminal data, we do so with the utmost care, and generally only with your consent.
Purposes of processing data
We process your personal data for, among other things, the following activities within our company:
- assessing and accepting potential clients;
- managing (or having managed) our relationship with (potential) clients and visitors;
- managing and expanding our client base;
- concluding and performing agreements;
- carrying out analyses of personal data for statistical purposes and using an archive destination;
- carrying out (targeted) marketing and promotional activities to establish, maintain or expand a relationship with a (potential) client;
- complying with legal obligations;
- sending newsletters or information of a specific nature.
Legal grounds for processing data
We use at least one of the following grounds for processing your personal data:
- performing an agreement for a financial product or a financial service;
- being able to comply with a legal obligation that rests on us, for example complying with our statutory duty of care during the term of a financial product established through our brokerage, or complying with statutory periods for retaining data;
- the explicit consent you have given to process data for specific purposes. You can always withdraw this consent;
- safeguarding our legitimate interests in the context of our business operations or those of a third party. In doing so we always weigh your interests against ours.
Storage and retention period of personal data
We retain your personal data only for as long and to the extent that we need it. Data that we necessarily need is retained at least for the duration of our relationship or agreement. When our relationship or agreement ends, we retain the data for the statutory retention periods that apply to us.
Security of your data
We have taken adequate technical and organisational measures to secure your personal data.
Providing data to third parties
We do not just provide your personal data to others. We may do so if you have given us permission, if we are obliged to do so by law or a court ruling, or if such provision serves our purposes for processing personal data.
For the performance of our business operations and depending on the services provided to you, we may provide your personal data to the following persons or parties:
- financial institutions (such as banks or insurers) with whom we apply for a financial product on your behalf, or with whom you have a financial product that we manage for you, or where we support you during the term of the product;
- persons and bodies that must be informed on the basis of a legal obligation;
- external parties that process data under our control and responsibility, such as our ICT service provider or our (direct) marketing agency;
- claims experts, databases aimed at combating fraud such as Fish and Cis;
- notaries, estate agents, lawyers, accountants (where applicable).
External parties that process personal data under our responsibility do so exclusively for purposes and under conditions that we have agreed with them. We record this in written agreements.
Visiting our website
When you visit our website we register general visit data. Think of the most visited pages so that we know what you find interesting. This enables us to improve our service. We process the data at an aggregated level (not traceable to an individual). On the website we use cookies. A cookie ensures that our website recognises you the next time you visit the website. If you object to the use of cookies, you can disable them in your browser.
